I'd be pissed if someone did that to my dash! My 63 dash was pretty flexible and cushy but not like that - however you're right, it's old. Bob Sowersby would know |

Cool video, he was hammering that car though.
Dashboard Screen cap:
It looks like he damaged it to me. It looked a bit crooked afterward.
I've never tried to do that on my mint dash and no way am I going to push that hard! _________________ How to Post Photos

After so many of us have watched "The love bug" (1969) so many times, we wonder how we missed these Type 3!
A grey, bumperless Notchback in the Riverside sports car race! In the enlarged photo you can clearly see the central dual "bumps" of the rear apron. It's definitely not a BMW 1600 or 2002 (round taillamps) or an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sedan (4 doors + rectangular, horizontally mounted taillamps).
Blue early Squareback parked for race spectator-
Possibly the same Squareback but in different location, with an ivory Karmann Ghia parked next to it. The Ghia could be the same one briefly seen at the very end/checkered flag shot of Herbie's first race at Jackrabbit Springs. |

Red early Notchback, South African movie "Liefste Veertjie" (1975)-
From the German TV public service program "Der 7. Sinn: Die Unentbehrlichen" (1969; translated The 7th sense: The essentials).
Red with black roof Notchback, German movie "Das kann doch unseren Willi nicht erschuettern" (1970) translates "that can't shake up our Willie". The white car in left background is a rear-engined Czech-built Skoda 100. |

You sure do. Streets of LA from 1968 to 1975. Those are the ones that became the cheap cars for us in the 80's/90's and filled the junk yards with rows and rows of VWs to pick from. _________________

Light blue early Squareback parked at left, South African movie "Sien jou more" (1970).
Red late Squareback in parking lot, behind main character Diana Prince/Wonder woman (Lynda Carter) in her red Chevy. TV show "Wonder woman" episode "The richest man in the world" from season 1 (1979).
Several Type 3 (red arrows) and Beetles, also a Ghia in parking lot, TV show "Mission: Impossible" season 3 episode 11, 1968. Is that a green Fastback to the left of the light blue Squareback? |

Movie "The Berlin affair" (1970). Red early Fastback driving in background. Main character Darren McGavin reading the newspaper.
Ivory Fastback parked.
Possible early Fastback seen through building gap, though I don't see any front blinker under the headlamp. 1970's TV show "The streets of San Francisco" episode "Superstar", with main characters police inspector Steve Keller (Michael Douglas) and Mike Stone (Karl Malden).
Light blue Type 3 (am not certain of the roofline; maybe a Squareback?) in right upper background "The streets of San Francisco" episode "Interlude". |

I did a search, it seems nobody mentioned Charles Bronson in The Stone Killer. The preview linked below, about 1:50 in ..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP89Ib5woMg
A brief off road chase scene, a rollover and then a execution type shooting on the hood are in the real film, perhaps more.

DQ, you're right- nobody has listed that movie here based on using the search function. I loaded 19 photos from the movie into my gallery in 2020 but never posted them here. So I'll start with a few of them now.
This 1973 movie was filmed in Los Angeles and New York City. NYC police detective Lou Torrey (Charles Bronson) transfers to L.A. to pursue a Mafia murder plot. One of the Mafia-hired car thieves Langley (Paul Koslo) is loaned a Sea Sand '66 Squareback to drive to the Mafia HQ in the Mojave Desert. Car was in very good condition.

More of my gallery shots from The Stone Killer:
Langley turns off the paved road to start on the dirt road leading to the desert HQ.
He is chased by gunmen in a light blue International Harvester Scout on the dirt road,
The Squareback turns wide on the road and its left side starts runs over the edge, per DQDan's photo above.
The Squareback now tumbles over, dislodging its windshield-
Langley gets out but is shot by one of the gunmen in the blue Scout.
There are also these Squarebacks in the movie! In New York City-
In a California parking lot-
And behind Langley at the Los Angeles International Airport parking lot- |
