Can anyone tell me about the 16" wheels:
What year was the heart welded to the outer ring, and what year was the heart nailed to the outer ring.
I've got 2 wheels that are nailed, and three are welded. |
Welded or riveted...
I'd like to know the same. I've pulled wheel off 3 cars in the last 6 month that had a combo of both.
Sounds similar to the "crows foot" / "non crows foot" bus wheel scenario. |
I just found this set, two welded two nailed
think I will hold on to'em till I find me a split. |

Goodbye my old German friend. It's been a great 10 years. I think your new owner will enjoy your wheels rolling on the road as much as I did...... _________________ John Henry

Can't say Bob. I'll leave that up to the buyer. My guess is that will be quite "visible" to the hobby though.... and driven often. _________________ John Henry

Can you even turn the front wheels Greg? Put it back up to stock and bring it down for the Treffen. That's a great car, congratulations. _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |

Heck yeah, I've been driving it daily for over a week now Bob.
Rolling out to Vallejo (couple hours round trip) next weekend for Bug Bash.
My plan was to get the hardtop back to stock for the Treffen, but engine hold ups aren't going to let that happen.
The new improved 11G will be there though, maybe the hardtop too, just not with a 25hp engine.

Im sorry John! It does look good What greg did to it, however i liked it stock when you had it much better. I know the trouble you went to to get it that nice. I think I barfed in my mouth a little at first when i saw it dropped on earlies, which like empi 5 spokes are played out. |
I think if I just read this correct he said your car sucks. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

I don't know if he said *that* but even if he did, you got it right when you said "your car" which we all know means I'll do with it what I want. I'm not particularly concerned with the people that don't like it, cause I do.
I've been told I "ruined" it and that it's "disgraceful", among other things. I guess we can add "it sucks" to the list as well.
I mean, c'mon look at this thing now. We should add "embarrassing to the list also.
