That is a baywindow seat for certain, every leg has been replaced expect the legs on each end. The shape is different.....if anyone wants a middle seat kick panel for that thing be sure you specify "full width baywindow kick with snowflake trim". I've got the pattern....

Wouldn't the reclining lever on the folding seat back also be a wee bit of a give away that its a Bay seat?

Kind of funny that you'd bid up on your good friend's bus and then retract the bid. You and Antonio are best friends right?

What are unreconcilable differences? http://offer.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=4573297719%5b/url%5d

It may seem funny but since you asked. I had a buyer up here who would trade me a split rag for the BD (at my good buddy price Wink ) I had a seriously high max bid to lock up the auction. Not what I would have really paid, but it still would have prevent anyone from winning the auction besides me. The guy started to get twitchy with me so I asked Antonio to remove the bid and go ahead with the auction.

Call it what you want. People advertise and sell items on ebay and advertise elsewhere all the time. I fully intended on carrying out the deal so a agreement is an agreement. If it went through I would have won the auction also so there would have been no other buyer.

Well it appears as though your good buddy isn't going through with the deal. Somebody won it on eBay for $15,099. The ad here keeps changing, what's up with that? Does he want more money? I mean if he agreed to sell it and doesn't, that's fraud.

This, my friends, is why EBay sucks as a venue for buying cars.

You would think if you were going to the trouble to weld on the extra legs you'd remove the lever on the side.

I don't think some of you know how ebay works.

Let's say we have 2 bidders.
The opening bid is $10.
Bidder 1 bids $1000.
The bid stays at $10 dollars until another bidder bids.
Bidder 2 bids $100.
Bid goes to $101 with bidder 1 winning.
Bidder 2 Bids $500.
Bid goes to $501 with bidder 1 winning, and so on until bidder 1 is out bid.

Now if bidder 1 retracks his bid, the bid will go back to $10 with bidder 2 winning.
If there are more than 2 bidders and the highest bidder retracks his bid, the bid will be the next highest bidder.

Now I don't think that this was shill bidding since there were others willing to pay around the $15k mark.

**Let me let all of you in on a little secret some may not want you to know. Use a sniping service to put your highest bid in at the last 8 seconds of the auction. That way you don't get caught up in the heat of the bid and don't have to worry about shilling. Esnipe.com is my favorite, but there are others like hammersnipe. The cost is low and I have saved tons of money by using these services. Some think it is unethical, but ebay allows it.

Except that if the shill bidder doesn't retract his bid, and just intends to let auction go to completion, as appeared to happen here, the other bidders got in at an already inflated price. They very well may have ended up bidding higher than would otherwise have had to. We'll never know, for sure, but it definately distorts the whole auction process.
