Each one of the panels on the bus need to be a different color. Some primered, some freshly sanded, some original paint, lots of bondo showing, maybe some flourescent colors so that you look fast.

I'm frankly appalled by the backlash against what is obviously a serious attempt at original thinking...even though the thinking was left to someone else with even less imagination. Of course, once the kit has been butchered on....I'm sorry, I meant fitted(a Freudian slip) then it will be necessary to put the rear wheels as far up into the rear guards as possible by that safe lowering technique, adjusting the springplates till the wheels rub in the wheel wells.Your camber should be a nice safe 45 degrees to the road. Then fit a pair of huge 18inch rims & low-profile tyres up front and the skinniest pair of 14inch rims you can find on the back with a pair of worn out crossplys on them. All the extra down force on the front means you don't need so much extra grip up the back and the reverse rake look is in with boy racers around the world. Oh, and wear your baseball cap backwards.
Cheers

I can't believe the thread made it this far without someone recommending the red "TYPE R" decal on the engine cover, and the giant "POWERED BY ACURA" sun shade across the top of the windshields.
Oh and throw away those red taillights. You want the CLEAR ones, man.
For the big hole in the roof of my 1954 23-window deluxe, I used 3/4" particleboard. I had to put some housepaint on it to keep it from swelling up in wet weather, but I got a pretty close color match on the paint at Home Depot so you really don't notice the particleboard unless you are actually looking at the bus.
Good luck with your modifications, and oh yeah--phuck Jakub!
Chris

Yesterday, I saw an early model Honda prelude with tires that literally stuck 5" or so past his wheel wells. Had the wheel base of a Ford F350 truck. To keep the spray off his ride he screwed some landscaping edging (the black 4" stuff) to his wheel wells. I am wondering if that lawn edging would look OK on your bus?

I finally grafted the portholes from my pinto wagon to my civic and it feels faster, now to graft the louvres from my panel onto the hood of my civic. Should I use silly putty or ask gbsmallie for advice. Heck, I'll just have a bubble durbin and go to a different chat.

j.pickens: Another possible solution for covering that unsightly sunroof is to graft another vehicle onto the roof of the bus. This has been done successfully on a few occasions. I personally recommend another VW (keep it in the family). Since you already have the JB, you're set. Just start slicing and dicing.

Pop rivets and latex caulk. Always start with that when fixing holes. If it leaks, you can always put some clear silicone around the gap. Just spread it around using your finger.
Before I settled on particleboard to cover the hole in the roof, I used some of that clear corrugated fiberglass roofing but it kind of shook at freeway speeds so I ended up taking it out and replacing it with the particleboard. It was a real bitch to get those nails out of the roof!
I finally found a front air dam that fits my panel! First I took the pressed bumper off and threw it away. Then I put on a water deflector that I got off my grandpa's old Boston Whaler. With pop rivets and white latex caulk, of course. I really like the downforce it generates. And it's turquoise which looks really fast with the OEM factory rat look rust patina that I've got going.

Don't forget the new neon flashing valve stem caps. They look way cool when your hauling a$$ on the freeway.
