Yes they started putting them on in Aug 1959 for the 1960 model year.
A lot seem to question their effectiveness.

The WW Grey mats seem to be closer to the 1961 Rock Grey mats..?
Wouldn’t mind seeing these side by side though to compare.

You are so right! I used the same source but peraps clicked on the sheets below. My eyes are not the best for close vision any longer.
Not having the rubber mats at hand, I would first buy the grey ones from WW and for the long run search original ones.

I decided to give the horns another try as suggested and after smacking them A few times they started working. And not bad at all.

How did the round heater hose connect to the oval opening under the rear seat?

I have the Y splitter for left and right but not sure what connected a round shaped hose to the oval outlet.

Thats how I found mine when I stripped that area. The paper alloy tubes are easily formed / bent. I think Jbugs had the right diameter tube, its slightly bigger than the engine pre-heat. Do you have the Y piece?

I did read somewhere there were metal tube versions but mine were the paper.

Yes. I have the Y piece and paper tubes but they were just shoved in there. I am going to eventually 3D print an adapter for it.

I remember there were two little tangs that get bent over to trap the paper tube, one of mine outlets had the remnants of the tube in there.
