Hello to all,
I'm driving a 1981 - 2.0 aircooled vanagon.
For about 3 Year now i got the problem that my shift linkage was always sounding horrible when i changed the gear. Also while driving there was a sound in the cabin.
Now i found only a seller in Lübeck / Germany (for NSU-Wankel Parts)
who sells brushings like the on for VW.
just contact the Salesmen and ask für a Brushing for a 18mm diameter linkage shaft.
nsu-autoteile.de
on the right side you can choose your language!
Working Great.
Best Regards from the home of volkswagen, germany

I would be in for two. The place does ship but it is 54 euros to ship to the USA. It would be best to coordinate a group order either from our good samba friend Niko or from nsu-autoeile. _________________ 1982 Westy, 1974 412 Variant... Yes, Aircooled's are great! I'll do this for you.
who needs, please send me a pn how many.
I'll send it to one of you, if that's ok.
[Edit]
The Part is about 7.50 Euros /each
Ok, I looked for shipping:
4.50 Euro inner Germany (Lübeck-Munich) [DHL]
13.90 Euro (Germany - US (everywhere)) [DHL World]
so when I buy ten and send it to one of you,
~ 100 Euro / 137 Dollar
you'll pay ~10Euro / 13.70 Dollar /each plus shipping inner US
Who wants to sell in US?
Best Regards,
Niko |

I will set up an order in the first week of December. I imagine it will be the cost to get from Gemany plus $5 to ship to whoever is ordering it. Please PM me so I can give you more details and get your info. I would like to be paid in advance. These are NLA and this is the best solution for the part. We are checking to see if there is a substitute for the other 2 shift pieces as well. I am not planning on getting extra so if you do not get in on the order do not expect me to have more.
Lets keep are Vanagons on the road and shifting smoothly _________________ 1982 Westy, 1974 412 Variant... Yes, Aircooled's are great! Oh and I do have modern computer controlled vehicles too, but I just don't care about them. |

If the total for the parts is more than $25.00 somebody is going to be paying an import duty.
And if you do BS the customs agents with a bogus low ball price--and lets say the package gets lost, or damaged between point A & point B--your out of not only the goods but the cost of them.
If you insure ( big time suggested ) the package you can't low ball the claimed price of them for the benifit of customs.
Figure an import duty , plus the price of the parts, plus the insurance , plus the frieight.
Now--if you guys know somebody that was having a car shipped here the parts could be tossed into the trunk and all of the above mentioned hurdles could be sidestepped.
I have Castrol Bike oil imported from England that way--in a cars trunk--and almost for free shipping.

Always a risk to import stuff, but I've been "caught" once,I paid 20$ to release the order, that was my first order, the value was more than 220£ from UK.
Not bad.
Since then I've ordered tons of stuff, you just have to pay the taxes overseas and a nice package.
I just received 4 custom shock absorbers 2 days ago,tax free from France,I was expecting them to be caught by the customs, the package was huge:nothing....I guess I'm lucky, but I'm using it |

<<<I have the VC ones that they are having made, it works but its made from alot harder material and noise transfer to the shifter inside the cabin is horrible.>>>
I've been meaning to reply to this for awhile, and just never got around to it.
The solution here is a simple finger tip load of high temp, low wash out stickey grease.
No noise transfer through the retaining cups, mounts & up into the Van.
A little creative thinking cures a bunch--- _________________ T.K. |

I actually did import a bunch of these and have them on the shelf for $24. They are exact replacements for the 80-83.5 Vanagon. The part number in my webstore is 251711207. Hope this helps. _________________ Thanks,

Love the DIY solution MIKE! I have a shapeoko cnc machine and this is going on the list of projects I'd like to create with it.
However, I was glad to see this part is available from Vanagain and went ahead and ordered it along with some new brake lines. Love the community here. Thanks everyone. _________________ 1980 Vanagon Westfalia (As-You-Want Brown)
