I think that's the "Projektzwo" part of this Projektzwo Syncro.

Yes, that is definitely a Projekt Zwo grille. It even seems to have the rare Hella DE projector low beams. And probably genuine Projekt Zwo foglights as well.

Yep real ProjektZwo everything. Wheels, steering wheel, headlights and grill and fog lights. It even came with the reciepts for all if them. I've only driven it in the city so far but the light from them seems pretty good. I'll really be able to tell once I get out in the country at night. People either seem to love or hate the look of the headlights. They have grown on me, I've always been a fan of the single round headlights before this.

I took a nice shakedown overnight trip out to Westport this weekend. She ran like a champ, even got pulled over for speeding, d'oh. The cop let me off because I showed him the kilometer speedo and he liked the van. In close to 20 years of various vans this is the first time I've been pulled over for speeding, I guess there's a first time for everything.

The van is great to sleep in. The panel back end makes it nice and private and the double glazed windows keep things warm and quiet. In the morning we went razor clam digging and I got to do some beach driving followed by an afternoon surf before heading home. I just need to get the propane plumbing switched over and find the key to the water tank filler so I can use my kitchen. First trip of many this summer.

LOL!

I was pulled over at dusk on HWY 5 in my 72 baywindow about 25 yrs ago..
I was worried about other things, but the officer asked "Do you know how fast you were going?"
I said, "No".. "But how fast could I be in this thing?"
He says.. "Well it was fast enough,.. I'm writing you up!"

I remember being completely flabbergasted, but a little proud of that idea.. that my AC Baywindow could actually "speed".

The he says.. "Hahaha.. jes kiddin'.. Your tail light is out.. Get it fixed before you get rear ended in the slow lane, here.. Hahaha.."

Smart ass..

But that encounter kinda ushered in a new respect I found for police/patrol.. and I dropped the attitude and seldom had rough encounters with officers and rangers from then on.

Beuatiful van, BTW.. Quite a nice and unique specimen.
Great find!

Not a lot to report yet. Just driving the van and getting a feel for it. Took a trip to Eugene this weekend and it did great on the 5 hours of highway driving each way. She's definitely a bigger sail than my tin top behind those semi trucks.

I did get one little project out of the way. I wanted to turn the Paul Chen bike rack into just a fold down shelf and also have my Gary Lee ladder on the back too. Thankfully there was just enough room for both of them to fit. I only had to slightly modify the bottom mount for the Paul Chen to clear the lock on the hatch. I also installed heavy duty hatch struts and they hold all this weight up just fine. I'm glad that these two are now friends on my van.

FYI I have the same Paulchen rack and I use the shelf to carry stuff and modified it to carry a jerry can.
Too much weight causes the rack to shift because it's not bolted to the hatch. This has scuffed up my paint something fierce! Evil or Very Mad

Thanks Dave. I'll keep an eye on it the first time I load it up. Maybe I need to put a thin piece of rubber under the top mounts or something. I mostly just want to carry a plastic tote so I can pack firewood and keep my wet wetsuit out of the interior on the way home from the coast.

Hi Dan, it's actually the bottom mounts that rubbed off the paint — even with the foam pads on the back. I can post some pics later.
I've seen people bolt the rack directly to the hatch but I interchange mine with a Fiamma rack that's lighter and holds bikes better.
Pondering a quick release system with the receiver bolted to the hatch...

You just have to do those bottom mounts up tight! I carry a 20L Jerry can, a bbq and one bike on my paulchen. Never had a paint problem. I see you have those support legs too, they help a lot.
I find it best to load the rack, then give the bottom mounts another tighten as the weight loosens them off

The moose sticker is probably bougt here in Northern Norway, on some holiday trip.

We have lots of moose, and even a road sign that warns drivers about this hazard:

These signs were often stolen by Foreign tourists, and every year the traffic authorities had to replace many signs. Then someone came up With the idea of reproducing the sign as a sticker, and they sell them on pretty much every gas station. They are in different versions, with or without the red triangle. The problem With disappearing signs stopped after that.

Nice post and too funny. I wonder how the border security over there feels about smuggled Moose crossing signs.

The previous owner sent me pictures and labeled where all the sticmers came from. The moose and troll supposedly came from Sweden, he did a pot of trips to northern Scandanavia in this van. Here is what he sent me for the rest.

I put pieces of inner tube under the upper mounts when U installed my Paulchen rack - no problems.

PS Still loving your van!! Very Happy

I'm getting a feel for properly camping in the new van. Took it out to the coast for a couple days and it was awesome. There is a site at the very back of the campground, right off the beach, that I've always wanted to claim, I think it's the best spot there. The only problem is it's up a short but steep and deep sandy hill. No way a 2wd van would make it. I drove right up and set up where I've wanted to for a couple years or so. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off after surfing too. Surf camping is going to be deluxe this summer.
