Not entirely sure what that means, but he did mention the name Martin at one point. If it was you who mentioned me, thank you, Martin!!! _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Why, yes, I do believe they are. Probably older than God unless they are the new Serbian ones which are quite good!
These are also a very nice option with a classic whitewall look. I put these on two customer cars so far (a Type 34 and a 1966 912) and both customers are very pleased.

They are indeed. The spare is okay, but the four others have some slight cracking on the sidewall. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Michelins: in the early '70's my aunt bought "The adventures of Tintin" books (by Herge) for her son. When I'd spend an afternoon with him I'd eagerly read the books, for their exciting plots and excellent drawing quality- I was a young teenager. I remember one of the books- either "The Calculus affair"- or maybe "The seven crystal balls"- where Tintin's friend Professor Calculus was kidnapped. Tintin or another witness saw the car from a distance being a French Citroen Traction Avant. Following the tire tracks on the dirt road, Tintin makes out the "Michelin X" tires. Since the book was published in the mid 1950's, that groundbreaking radial tire had a unique tread appearance which was incorporated into the book plot. |

I was going through some old Squareback photos here on TheSamba and found this picture from Everett with my car in a garage. I'm guessing it's somewhere up here in the San Jose area. Pic is from 2005, so who knows. Less paint on it now.
I did pull it out and take it to Kelley Park last weekend. My buddy Andy brought up his early Squareback so it was cool to get them together. I really like this one.

After my last update, Everett reached out with more photos of my Squareback. Thankfully, they were still in his inbox. Thanks, Ev!
Pretty wild seeing how nice this thing was when it was pulled out of that garage. It's still a great base, but went through a rough patch. I'm gonna try to get it back to looking pretty. Also thanks to Everett, I was able to track down the owner from this timeframe. To my surprise, he answered, but only one time. I'm hoping he can share more history about this Squareback.
Here are the photos...

Cool, I hope you can get me more information on it.
It was freaky when you posted that garage pic because I totally remembered the car and how it was buried in there when the guy had it for sale.
I wonder what happened where it got all faded out in the meantime.
I never saw it in person but it looked like really solid original paint in the older photos. _________________ How to Post Photos

I think I know some people who have the backstory. They followed it around San Jose and kept tabs.
I put my Squareback rear cargo net in for Kelley Park. Really neat accessory and it gave me some ideas for the future.
