I love that one. The markings are about as obscure as it gets.
I am guessing that the MO is for Missouri. BUS? S? _________________ John

Great thread revival!
I liked the Slow Pokey and Happy Camper plates.
So expensive to try and get a semi-personalized plate in Europe.
I do have a personalized plate but it is not VW-related nor would I post it online but there are some very creative combinations here. _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |

Yes Missouri. I think the S may be for school but I am going with "Short" bus. Haha _________________ 1971 Tin Top Westy Campmobile 70 |

Nice...the prisoners actually did a halfway decent job screening the yellow lettering on. The last few years, the lettering has looked like crap on California license plates, lopsided and escessive on top, light and thin on bottom, etc.
For those across the country and around the world who don't know this, this black plate design was the 1960's California issue, and was recently reintroduced in the "legacy" program around middle 2015. Classic vehicle sellers in California have long pointed out that their vehicle for sale has "black" plates or the selling point wording similar to that effect.
Interestingly, I see quite a few of them popping up on new cars too, they seem to have a lot of appeal. |

This plate is on my 2015 CC R-Line. Triple black including wheels, grill and emblems. They look good on her. It's not a bus, but it is a beautiful VW. I have this a Eurovan and my 69 Kombi.

A Harley dealer in Salt Lake City owned a pet camel and tried to get a trailer license, "CAMEL TOW", but they would not issue it.
What about a CA plate for a '69 camper, "FRCNDY" ?
Aloha
