Wow - great link Shocked

The more I look at all this, the less I would ever want to pursue a full rack install. With all those u-joints and other contraptions, I can't see any benefit over a nice tight steering box. Looks like the "bevel" gear box's they are using hang down quite a bit too and lot's of frame hacking going on as well.

But, I do love the term they use for parting out over there "Breaking For Spares" Laughing

wow the guy who started that thread really came up with some bogus ways to run his steering linkage. NO need to do that.

again, find a rack with right side pinion shaft..flip it over so its on the left side pointing forward. Use a vanagon "bevel" box and run the steering shaft straight back from the output on the box to the pinion. simple, least amount of joints. If one were to take the time to make it exact, you could even use solid shafts with no U joints and the only 'slop' would be in the bevel box and the rack.

some people do...but the masses want the simplicity and ease of a bolt in narrowed adjustable beam with dropped spindles to use existing brake and wheel combinations.

the 911/914 style torsion suspension is great though, you can adjust the ride height with a very easy turn of a bolt.

hell yeah that looks good, although I would rather see it with a left side pinion rack...but I understand the booster is in the way.
