I bought a Pre Built dune buggy from some one and long story short, it has the VW Speedometer and the VW front wheels. The problem is that the cable is now too short. I am having a hard time finding a longer cable. it seems like this style is not very popular. the cable can almost reach. if was just a foot longer it would be fine. is there any way to lengthen a speedo cable, or are there cables that are longer that i can use?

Any VW bus cable should get you there. The late bus cables are the longest but the early one should be more than enough. A super beetle / type 3 cable is also longer, but might not quite get you there. If I were you I would shoot for an early bus cable.

a cable for a super beetle should work. Worked for me with a 6" wider front beam

The super beetle / T3 cables I have seen are only 6-7" longer than a standard beetle. If he is looking for an extra foot, that wont quite get him there. Unfortunately, there really isn't anything between a early bus and super/T3 cable lengthwise...and thats a pretty big gap...either too short or a good deal extra. Fortunately extra doesn't cost any more than not enough. They are all about the same $.
