Here are the numbers on a transaxle that I was told was a 1952. Here are the pics and I’m totally confused.

Any help identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

if it is a 1952, it would be late in the year (October on - Zwitter). I have a 1952 full crashbox and it: 1) does not have external ribs like yours, 2) there is no part number cast into it, and 3) has different rear mounts. also, the 1952 crashbox has the protrustion on the right side for the filler plug.
yours will be synchronized in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears
for another reference, this listing matches your cast part number: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403620105454

hope this helps

Thank you all for the information. It cleared up my confusion.
