hey this guy told me this exactly
"Because it's a super beetle genius.....It has upper strut stress support bars and a 7/8ths front sway bar to compensate for the welded up strut perches...you see I had to cut the strut towers and weld in 2" inserts to lift the front end on it.....and believe it or not I can still keep up with my buddies bajas that have thing front ends....and furthermore you never want to jump a baja that doesn't have a sway bar on the front....nowhere near enough camber support without it....the only way you run without one is with an a-arm front suspension....which I will have in a few months....gotta' tube the whole front end out first though...anyways whoever told you to run without a front swaybar is an idiot....or doesn't like you......or thinks walking home is fun.....Peace..... "
is this sway bar thing only good for the super beetles? because ive heard that having the sway bars is bad, is it?
well i just got started into my baja project and i took mine of should i not have?

don't throw the stock one away... (looks like a 74 or 75) you will need it for smog testing... along with a stock muffler... _________________ '69 bug--rusty as hell

my guess is that the car is a 74. no evidence of a FI system at any time which means its not a 75. it has the holes in the fenders for shock absorbing 74+ bumpers. and if that is anywhere close to the original engine, that is either not the stock intake manifold or it is not an original california car.
damn, i've spent way too much time around late model VW's _________________ OGST | CU05 | OGJHC

Isn't the sway bar an integral part of the suspension on a macpherson strut? Doesn't it hold the strut in position fore and aft? |
