After a low period of enthusiasm due to having nowhere to work on his bus its good to see the 54 is now on the road and passed its uk MOT inspection. Around 9 weeks work from start of project to roadworthy inc plenty of metal work. Not bad going at all.
looking forward to taking a ride in it soon.

It actually passed? the inspectors called me and I told them he was a bit "dodgey" and I wouldn't trust him.

I will be making my own smaller scale invasions at various points during the year. Starting on friday. The suspension seems to have collapsed on your 50 and the wheels have been stolen and they stuck on some shiny shit.  Looks good though, nice one. I need to have a ride in that car some day, i would love to have kept that one.
The gauntlet has been thrown down, anyone going to restore (less body and paint) there barndoor in less than 9 weeks? I have no chance. |

If anyone is thinking of getting a bus on the road here is my simple system.
1. Have no job
2. sell all other projects to fund the plan
3. Rent space you cant afford to pay for for very long.
4. keep everything stock
5. Have www.fbivw.com round the corner so you can beg and borrow parts and drink tea.
I probably could have got it on the road faster were it not for some of my screw ups and places I sent stuff to that were slow and then sent back crap. 
12 months till next inspection |

Sounds like you have a great thing going on over there in Wales, I'm on holiday next week near Prestatyn (sp) I'm in my 57 oval and my girlfriend will be talking the 60' splittie for somewhere to sleep in. Where abouts are you guys?
