To whom it may concern,
I am writing this e-mail in response to being “blocked” from your auction of item #4611014742. I felt I would at least give you the courtesy before I post this as negative feedback on E-bay.
As a first time E-bay buyer / bidder I had 0 feed back, effectively a clean slate. Having never bid before I had to undergo the Veri-sign process and confirm my eligibility to bid with a credit card. Both of the processes were put in place to counter fraudulent bidding. I began to bid for your VW bus with the full confidence that I would later win the auction and buy it. I watched the auction for roughly three days, bidding to the amount I felt was fair.
Approximately 3 to 5 minutes before the end of the auction, I noticed the bid went from my $12,500.00 offer down to $11,100.00. Confused and thinking something was wrong with my computer, I exited E-bay and restarted my computer. After the reboot and logging on to E-bay I made another $12,500.00 bid, and much to my dismay E-bay indicated that I was blocked by the seller and prohibited from the auction. I tried to send you several messages to correct the problem but these are the following e-mails I have saved.
Bean443….. Thank for the reply…I am very interested…question: but why did you wait to cancel me with 2 min left…I bid for 3days…if I had know your cancel policy I would have contacted you sooner…this is our 1st purchase…how could I have known your blocking policy? Did I miss something? If it’s about wanting more for the bus…please let me know?
Sincerely,
Robin
Your 1st response,
“I cancel and block all bidders with 0 feedback who do not make contact. Had you emailed sooner, I would have been able to unblock you. I will let you know if my high bidder does not follow through.”
Bean443, “That’s to bad…thanks again for your quick reply….please do keep us in mind…. If perhaps you have anything else that comes your way, similar or double cab of similar quality, I would be very interested… We are going to buy this month…Hope we get the 2nd change!!!! “
Best Wishes Robin
Your second response.
“I was not concerned until you were high bidder. It is not about wanting more for the bus. After canceling your bid, it actually went down $1000.”
I response to all of this, I had been the high bidder for quite some time and no where in your add did ever indicate that buyers with 0 feed-back must contact you before you will sell to them. Your auction instructions say, “ If you are not sure about something, Please ASK. Do not assume anything not listed is included. We reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback. We reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale.”
It does not say 0 feed back!!!!! Nor does it say contact you prior or you will be excluded!!!!!
You can be assured that I will not purchase a vehicle through E-bay and more specifically your business. I feel that you did not act in good faith and I am disappointed with my one and only experience with this process. I will buy a vehicle this month, unfortunately it’s not the Deluxe Micro-bus I really wanted.
Is there something wrong here? I think so. If there are specific requirements to be met before you are deemed worthy to buy on E-bay, should'nt those requirements be made clear?

If you have a complaint with an e-bay auction ... talk to e-bay? _________________ Get ready for the injection

WTF ? E-bay was notified but I couldn't post it in the Feedback because the deal didnt go through.
Is stuff like this normal for sellers to do. That's the F-ing point. The other point is VW people are usually on the up and up and look out for each other anyone else thinking about buying from them should be aware. |

He's not a VW person, he's a car dealer.
I agree it was wrong for him to cancel a zero feedback bidder since it was not listed in his auction as being an issue.
I would chalk it up as luck. If you don't like the way they handled their auction, you probably wouldn't have liked the way they represented the vehicle condition.
You were going to bid $12,500 on a vehicle without having spoken with the seller or having seen the vehicle in person? That is crazy. _________________ How to Post Photos

I agree, It was a risk, but I havn't seen much out there recently and thought to give it a try. Thanks for a decent reply.
I'm sure I'm better off without it.
Patience is not a strong point here, especially when you just want a Type 2.
Thanks again |

You got lucky. Be happy you didn't have something like this happen to you:

People, don't make major purchases on eBay (or here!) unless you have done your homework and have inspected every inch of the vehicle before handing over your cash. |
