I Just purchased a 1985 weekender and would like some recommendations of outstanding vw repair services. The family I purchased the weekender from had a lot of work done (including head gasket replacement / new radiator / etc...) by a company called Volks Cafe and they recommended them.
What are your opinions? |

| I've had great luck with Volks Cafe, honest, and has taken care of warrenty issues with no problems. D&K is also top notch. I've also had good luck with Old Volks Home. |

I was broke down in Santa Cruz a few months ago and went straight to Volks Cafe because they were the only shop I knew of. Unfortunately they were too busy to look at my van and recommended D&K but I couldn't get the van started again. After about an hour of sitting on their lot, they must have thought I looked as stupid as I felt - broke down in a sea of Vanagons surrounded by VW mechanics and about to call Triple A - so one of the guys took pity and got me going on his own time, and off I went to D&K who diagnosed and fixed the problem that afternoon.
Both shops were as friendly and helpful as possible so I recommend both. Seems like you need to make an appointment for Volks Cafe though... _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

| I have only bought parts from Volks cafe, but they have been wonderful. They answer emails, talk to you on the phone, make sure you are getting the part that will fix the problem before they sell it to you, and stand behind their stuff. |
