Anyone have any experience using the adjustable rear center spline section made by Sway Away? I am looking for any feedback regarding installation or use of this item before I put one in my car... thanks! |

So none of you have heard of or tried this rear torsion center section? Hello? Anyone?
I feel so lonely in here... |

I was wondering if anybody was ever going to ask about a rear adjuster.
It's one of the best things you will ever install in your offroad car, for two reasons.
Ease of maintenance. My bars came out after every race to get magnaflux inspected, an adjuster makes the installation process so much faster.
Suspention tuning. Being able to adjust suspension sag a priceless in setting up a car. Also the good 300m torsion bars will take a set when run for the first time, it's nice to be able to bring the car back where you want it in a couple minutes.
Or just being able to adjust for a heavier load in the car is nice, fuel load, heavy ice chest, or a huge buddy in the back seat.
I have the King Kong adjuster in my car, I installed it with the body on the car, (it would be easier with the body off) it's not hard if you have the right toys for the job.
Hot VWs did a great install how to years ago, I'll try to dig it up and let you know what issue.
Bottom line, install one or have one installed if you can, trust me.

if you find it, do you think you would be able to scan the pages or take digital pictures and post them here on thesamba's gallery? _________________ OGST | CU05 | OGJHC

I recommend them very much, It makes life so easy...When you are working on the rear. ease of adjustability and fine tuning, , ease of install and removal. They are very sweet, They are for sure worth the money and the time to install. _________________ I used to think I had a drinking problem, So I quit thinking... |

Thanks for the input, guys... I already bought one, but was starting to have second thoughts... I am in the middle of relocating my trans, so now is the time to put it in if there ever was one. I had heard some negative views on these. Nice to hear some positive views.
As for ease of installation, do you mean there is enough travel on these that you can completely unload the torsion bars for removal? I didn't think the adjsutment range was that much. If it is, it is already worth the cost. I hate beating the spring plates on the bars under load!
Now if I could just get over my decision on whether or not to leave the shift rod over the tunnel, or tilt the trans and route it back through the tunnel...
I can't wait to feel how this long travel Baja works in the desert!!! Patience... must use patience.... |

Where in Orange? My buddies and I are building a long travel bug and are in Tustin. I heard there is a meet in HB somewhere, and quite a few bugs show up. Do you know of this?? |

Yo burger... they say the memory is the first thing to go. Actually it is the second. I just can't remember what the first is....
There is no longer a Bravo Burger. Couldn't find it anywhere. So we stopped at a place called Beach Burger. Go figure - Bravo changed names about three weeks ago. We were in right place... but, at the wrong time. The bug night is on Thursday nights. So in reality you can't remember where the Tuesday night event is at... ??? Thanks for the tip anyway - now I know where and when. Maybe I will cacth you there one of these Tuesd- no wait, Thursday nights!!! _________________ "It's not complicated, it's just expensive!"
