This sounds like a similar poblem I am having with a rail, I am using disc brakes on the rear only and just changed out the master cyclinder. But my brake lights are staying on all the time after I hit the brakes one time. I am guessing that I am building too much presure in the lines and there is no where for it to go. As I said this is a new master cyclinder that was designed to use the 2 wire brake light switch. This may be what could be causing your problem as well. I have let just a little air in the line to test my theory and the brake light switch now works properly most of the time however, I do not recomment you let air into the system as this could cause a lockup or worse the could cause the cyclinder to bottom out and loose all braking. The other solution I can think of is to move the switch to the "T" at the back of the car since the bias would be less there that could also solve the problem. |

What about the handbrake warning light ? The switch is under the hand brake lever. _________________ Midwest Autosavers, Inc. Crystal Lake, IL |

Most aftermarket master cyclinders have and adjustment for the pistion I was working on my rail tonight and it just dawned on me I had forgotten about the piston adjustment screw in the back of the master cyclinder. If you remove the brake light switch and turn the adjustment screw clock wise this should reduce some of the pressure on the brakelight switch and allow for normal braking. After I had made this adjustment the lights work perfectly as did the brakes. Hope this helps |
