I have a early 53 Oval. I have a 5 terminal switch but factory manual shows that it's only a 4 terminal.
Can I make this work ?

Yes.
The extra terminal is for the parking light bulbs for sealed beam lights that your 53' should probably not have, and would be terminal #57 ? on the light switch.
From what I gather sealed beam / export cars had a separate circuit from the switch to turn the parking lights off when the headlights are on.
On Euro cars they stayed on, were wired basically to the tail lights, or didn't exist.
Not entirely sure specifically when or why the tiny city lights were added, I'm sure somebody does. I just know some early headlight assemblies didn't have them.
Found this, probably similar to your question..
