Difference in thermostats

I just finished putting the shutters and thermostat in my 74 SB daily driver.

The thermostat I have for this car has 13 folds and one that I purchased several years ago from Rocky Mountain Motorworks for my 1977 Fuel Injected type 1 is a little shorter and has 10 folds. It was supposed to be the correct one for my Fuel Injected engine.

I think there is a different temperature range between the two, but I don't remember what the range was. Both thermostats are the original OEM type.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Take a good look at the thermostat. There are 2 different models and the temp is stamped on the top or bottom.

65-70C and 80-85C

Is this the temperature that the thermostat starts opening the flaps?

Which one is best, why did they make two different temp ranges?
