1954 Single Cab
Wheelbase was shortened years ago. Has type 3 rear suspension. Cab is complete and original with semaphores. Later model front bumper. Would make a great donor for another resto project or drop in a motor and trans and ride. I will not part out this vehicle. Interested in VW based kit cars, bugs and buses.

At some point some owner sent me photos of that thing by snail mail asking me to buy it (asking price $2500).

Where is it now and what are the plans for it?

That's what I get for starting on a mild performance engine instead of just putting together another stock 1600.

Does anyone know where this bus is currently?
It was "built" in Decatur Alabama by a guy that had a vw shop. His name was Shorty Creel.

It was shortened and had an IRS rear suspension the last time I saw it. From the front of the bed forward was all stock and in very good condition and correct parts wise, even the seat was still in good condition.

Last time I saw it it was at "Bug Barn" in Joppa Alabama. (EPA shut it down.) And was for sale for $1,500.00.
I met Paul Liles a few times back then, but I think he has passed away too. Both of these guys were the "old timers" when I first got into VWs during the early '90's and they had a lot of great VW stuff.

I would love to buy this truck if at all possible.
