|
|
| Hi! I'd love to put a luggage rack with the wood slats on the top of my 64 split bus. I don't have a lot of clearance going into my garage (and I'd hate to have to take it on and off to get it out of the garage!). Does anyone know if anyone builds one that's a bit lower profiled that might be easier (or possibly more likely) to go into my garage? So many people make them and I wasn't sure where to start! Thanks in advance for any help! |

Jerry will make you one to whatever dimensions you ask for.

He made mine just high enough so that I could clear my garage door.
I've been super happy with it.

Photo from caorlinabusguy:
This is a version of Westfalia rack just for the example photo.
Could you remove all the uprights and just use the wood part with bungees to hold your stuff? Where the "Y" legs are you would have to change that to a nut and bolt. |

I'll bet Pedro could make another one of these- I hope it's okay I stole this pic from Cunodo Wear's gallery
His work is without compare. There are many other shots of his work in the gallery- search: Pedros rack
Edit- After I wrote this I looked for his ads. I am not sure he currently makes racks. Check out his work regardless. _________________

The Pedro rack is absolutely incredible. But isn't he in Brazil or somewhere close? Shipping would be CRAZY!
NLAVW.com has some nice rack, based out of England. Not really bad priced either.

Years ago I saw a bus that had wood slats attached directly to the roof, in similar fashion to single/double cab bed slats. Can't get much lower than tht. _________________ -Thom

It's easy to get those 3rd-world countries mixed up... _________________ -Thom
