As I was driving home in the rain for the first time with my still 6volt wipers running at warp speed and then deciding to stick on till I shut the key off I pulled the wiper assembly out last night. I found a wiper assembly in my myriad of parts from a mk1. Drilled 2 different holes in the bus assembly and motor bolted right up. The main shaft also was a direct fit. Now was pressed for time and only wired up power I no longer have the park option but am fine with that as I like the fact that I can park them to the left now. Works great easy mod and no more turbo wipers. _________________ 68 bug daily driver

What does that motor normally fit? Is that the 1967 12v motor? It looks different. _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. I can wish can't I???? |

MK1. Rabbit and jetta variants 1974-1985
very cool mod. And using all german vw parts I might have to look into that |

Bringing back an old thread, I can confirm that this works great! I realized my original wiper motor was trashed and the gear was broken last night, so I came on here looking for a solution and stumbled upon this thread.
A quick trip to my local auto Wreckers and I am back in action! 😎
It "parks" the wipers wherever it coasts to once you shut off the switch, but for $35 Cdn it works well. Now my wipers are 12v like the rest of my bus. |

I should clarify, it doesn't park the wipers because of how I have it wired right now. So far I have a ground and one speed working but I am happy. |
