tranmission input shaft snapped!

so finally got everything out...thanks to everyone on this site....turns out the input shaft going into transmission snapped in half...haven't driven car at all...been broke since i got it...have another input shaft...nose cone comes off and put shaft into center shifting forks...is that it?...also...checked the fluid...some shiny particles were on drain plug...is this normal wear...do i have to get more looked at or can i put back in car and try it out?...thanks...still don't know how previous owner mangae to shift the tranny and engine back off it's mounts...that must be when the input shaft broke...

also, how do i shift tranny that is out of car into first gear ?...need to look thru filler hole to see gear...thanks

input shaft that hooks to shift linkage broke..... may be fixable by average mechanic.... input shaft that connects to motor..... find replacement transaxle...... replace, and reinstall motor..... move on to next problem.....
