Hey guys...I need to order my clutch and pressure plate and need some help...
Is there a way to find out the following without tearing into it?
My Truck is 12 volt and has Redux boxes, but how do I find out big nut or small nut, and what size clutch I need?
Thanks! _________________ 1974 Thing |

If you dont know what it is, dont order yet. You will have either a 180mm pressure plate and disc or 200mm. Most likely 200mm. Change the throwout bearing at the same time. Check the flywheel surface for wear.
Bit nut trannies have 46mm axle nuts. 36mm is small nut. Yours could be either. |

| Pre-1964 stub axles are 36mm and 1964-1967 model year stub axles are 46mm. |

Most people have the 200mm clutch.
But you have to pull the motor to know which you have. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

Always take something appart that could be "not orignal" or molested by a previous owner. I can't count how many people (myself included) who have bought new parts only to find they bought all the wrong stuff. It also gives you a chance to add things to the list that need to be replaced anyway that you overlooked (or broke). Then you wont end up waiting twice for parts. |
