For a 74 type 4, which year bell housings will fit the correct starter?

Most any. I have a 1600 T-1 bolted to a '72 T-2 (for a T-4 engine) trans. Since you will not be using the input shaft you should have no worries.

The 091 bellhousing will accept any Bay flywheel and clutch, while the earlier bellhousings will not accept the 228mm clutch without clearancing.

Mike - what about the starter mesh? Will an 091 starter mesh with the smaller flywheels?
