Need to set up dual weber IDF, is there a link to a website? Or if someone can post the procedure? Thanks. |

so I followed the procedure outlined in the link, and all was going well, until the 1/2 side, appears that even with the idle mixture screws being open 1 1/2 turns, it was so lean, that the cylinders were not firing, once I opened the mixture screws enough, the cylinders began firing, and the idle speed went up substantially. So I thought I should lower the idle speed, and go thru the adjustments again, but even with the idle speed adjustment screw not touching, the idle is still too high. Is there something I am overlooking? Is there an initial butterfly adjustment that I need to make prior to all the other adjustments? Thanks. |

Did you disconnect both carbs from the linkage while tuning them. Sometimes the attached linkage will prevent you from seeing how the carb is responding or will give a false reading. All your mixture screws should produce the same reaction when you turn them in towards fuel cutoff. If not then you have some sort of blockage in the carb somewhere. If your idle won't come down it could be a vacuum leak or a bent throttle shaft. |

the linkage is disconnected at both carbs. I guess I will remove the carb and see if anything is holding up the butterfly. If it is a bent throttle shaft, do I just buy one (where?) and replace it? |

Air Cooled Engineering or Pierce Manifolds should have the parts you need. |

So, I couldnt find anything wrong with throttle sahft or linkage, just the Idle speed screws, and the stops are apparently different, I did find evidence of a vaccum leak, and once I fixed that, I was able to set up the iodle. I started with the idle speed screw with the least adjustment available, and set the other to match, worked fine. Now I need to figure out how to equalize the linkage so both carbs get full throttle, they both start at the same time, but one gets full throttle, and the other stops just shy of full throttle. I am going to try and change the angle of the linkage where it comes off the linkage cross shaft, and see if that changes the rate at wich the throttle opens, maybe that way I can equaalize them. |

I'd love to access the link above, but it seems to be broken now! Anyone have it, or the pdf it was linked to? I'm trying to tune my new Weber dual IDF 40 setup!
