|
|
Dug out a load of NOS Cyclone air filter bits, unfortunately no complete kits, but some nice bits nevertheless.
there is one nearly complete set up for a split bus,and I have the technical bulletins fitting instructions,so easy to make up the missing body bracket.Any idea what its worth?
Also some spares, including the rubber seals/boots which wopuld be great for anyone with an OG setup they wanted to restore.
Not really much use in the UK,just a cool old genuine VW accessory.
I'll stick up some pics.
This is the split bus set up,just missing the bracket to hold the oil bath to the body, anyone got one?
These are spare boots, joining seals and a couple of cyclones.
And these are used on Bug and KG fitment where the Cyclone is on the opposite side of the engine bay to the oil bath, they fit accross the top of the fanshroud. |

As for the $15 offer,i'm not even going to respond to that.
As to what makes them NOS, er hows about the fact that I know where they've been for the last 20 odd years, and they've never been fitted to anything.I believe you'll find that makes them NOS.And before you say about their condition, they do have some surface rust, but this is only because they've been stored badly over the years, after all to most they're just air cleaner bits. Stripped and powdercoated they'd be mint once again, all the rust visible is just light surface rust.
Germanpride, they were an option fitted in very dusty areas, the air is sucked into the cone shaped Cyclone piece through vents in the sides, this action creates a vortex and as the air spins 75% of the dust falls through the rubber boot and out the bottom. the rest carries on to the bigger than usual oil bath filter for normal cleaning. Its a way of reducing maintenence downtime in very dusty conditions. |

I've been seeking one of those since time began. I don't need the carb elbow and bellows as that exists on my stock unit. How much for the most complete unit with or without the pieces I mentioned?

No idea on M code,I haven't personally seen an alternative oil bath cleaner, other than this and stock, and this is certainly larger than stock. It might be the one you're van originally had,or it might not.
I've had a few PMs about selling it,a couple of suggested values as well,I'm not going to name my price,as I don't want to undersell,I figure the man who wants it for his own bus will always pay the right money, the man who only wants to sell on will always try to earn most profit.I want to sell to the final user. That way I get the best price for me,and the buyer doesn't pay anyone elses profit.
If those who've allready been in touch want to make a firm offer for the parts they actually want for their own buses, then hopefully a few people can be happy. The spare boots and stuff can all be sold individually, shipping on individual parts will be cheap, they're all light and small so a few dollars will ship a boot for example by airmail.
The near complete kit will obviously be a bit more, but its still not heavy,if I split it into two parcels to keep the weight and size down it can also go airmail at reasonable cost. |

Taking offers and selling it to the highest "bidder" sounds like an auction to me. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

You get all butt-hurt because people point out the fact that reserving something for the highest "offer" would be considered an AUCTION. You also cried yourself to sleep about Langsmer's offer of $15 (as a joke)?? I hope not.
I have an extra kidney I don't need. What's it worth? Oh wait, its going to the highest OFFER. Buck up man! In a battle of wits, we're fighting an unarmed man. |

Some of you guys take yourselves far too seriously on here,
This started out as a who knows about these? What are they worth thread.
Very early on I started to get PMs asking if they were for sale and how much i would take,I replied to these saying ,that they were for sale, but I wished to see what peoples thoughts were as to value, I can't afford to take a guess at a value, and either undersell,or piss people of by asking too much,(witness the $3K crapper.)
This is not an auction, when somebody gives me a fair idea about value and people stop wasting my time with dumb comments, then i'll be back in touch to the FIRST person who contacted me,a guy on here who I know wants the bits for his own buses. Its up to him then.I'm sure he'll have them as we're both happy just to have a fair deal both ways.
I only came back on here last night to say to people who'd contacted me that I needed firm offers, not the standard; "Let me know know much you want dude?"

Seriously, how many times have we seen thinly veiled ads on here masquerading as discussion threads? And how many times do we get people jumping into threads offering stuff for sale?
If this is all you've got to worry about then you really have got too much time on your hands. |
