Hey guys!
Bought a 1974 VW Super Beetle today! Im mostly into American muscle cars, and have owned a few classic V8s (Firebird, Dart etc. ). I know alot about classic American cars, but not much about VW parts. I bought mine for $1450. Anyways, please understand that I may be a noob at all this, im only 19, but LOVE old cars!
So anyways, the VW car has a sunroof, I bought it, but the seller told me the rail doesnt open, he said its a job that could take a few hours, but thats not a big deal really! Any ideas?
The cars hood has small indentations on the front of it, and I have no idea why, doesnt seem like any filler was used.
Has an really strong engine from a 1971 VW I believe he stated. 4 Speed transmission that was at one point rebuilt apparently (cant confirm). I think the engine bay might be missing some parts. I have attached some pictures.
Interior needs some lovin too!
Anyways, I have attached some links to my new ride! Checkem out!

Also, If you look at the engine, notice the wiring is kinda lousy. Part of the deal is that the wiring would get done by a pro VW mechanic. The seller paid for it. |

If it runs/shifts/stops then the price seems fair. Buy a Bentley Manual from www.amazon.com that covers the '74 Super Beetle and start learning how to work on it yourself, so you're not at the mercy of a mechanic unless necessary. Start with the simple stuff and keep it together/running/driving while you fix it up slowly. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Change out the fuel line to a more modern type capable of handling the new fuel mixtures out there. That braided German stuff often fails, and you don't want a fire.
Also put your location under your username as sometimes a local might step up and help. |

I think I can handle all of that. Yeah the car runs and drives strong with a 1600 Dual port engine from another car, and a rebuilt trans. Im trying to find the right carpet kit for it on eBay though.. |
