Here is a super nice almost perfect OG 57 oval that I picked up last weekend. My plan for the car is pretty simple I have already removed the complete front beam in preperation for the new 6inch KCW beam that will take its place in addition to the beam will be drop spindles also supplied by KCW the rear of the car will be brought down also with notched spring plates and new shocks. I'm replacing all the brakes components but keeping this one 4 wheel drum (stock) I will be using adapters to run the Porsche Fuchs. I have pulled the engine to completely clean it and replace anything that needs to be, before I reinstall the engine I will be replacing all the engine bay seals and fire material with all new Wolfs burg west parts. The interior is going to be easy I plan just to replace the battery tray
por 15 the floors buff out the dash and clean up the seats and call it good.
The outside of the car I'm going to do as little as possible to try to retain as much of its character as I can, so I plan to replace the running boards with some new WW I also plan to completely wet sand and buff the car to bring back as much of the shine as possible. Thats it for now I will post more as progress happens...... Also look for this car to be for sale in the classifieds soon after its finished Wink

You're going to need 58 - 64 front brakes to go with the dropped spindles. Oval stuff won't work.

If you want to keep drum all the way around AND run Fuch's why not go hybrid link pin / balljoint? You need to get new front brakes anyway, right?

That's what I'm running on my personal car with Porsche pattern drilled drums.

Greg thank you for the heads up! I normally buy disc brake kits but Im trying to keep the cost down on this one so the price will be reasonable for the buyer. So it looks like I will have to dig up some later front brakes Brick wall Brick wall

Your oval is hella cool. I have one just like it, but your is way cooler than mine. Some day I hope to get it looking good like yours. I don't know if you noticed this, but your plates are vannity plates. Probably a 737 pilot or FAA instecter owned that car at one time. That's rad. I love the history involved with these cars.

In California they didn't have vanity plates til the late 70's, starting with the blue and yellows. But, I can tell you that since your plate starts with FAA, that it was originally registered out of Modesto California Laughing .
