|
|
Having owned only 1 original SO-23 sisal mat, I don't have enough to go on to make this statement, so I thought I'd throw it out for feedback. It seems as though the original sisal mats were cut slightly larger, or wider, than the area between the two seat bases. The rear edge of the mat is actually where the extra width is found, so that the mat actually curls up the rear seat base, approximately 3-4 centimeters.
Is this in fact true? I'm not sure why Westfalia would have done this, but if they did in fact do this to all sisal mats, I'm sure they had their reasons.
I'm getting ready to make a template for a new sisal mat, so I'd like to get it as close to original (in size) as I can. Any input is always appreciated. |

The reason it's a little wider is because westfalia got the sisal in 60cm width from their supplier. That's why there's no grey edging on either side like there is on all the other edges protecting the mat from fraying. _________________ The new http://so23westfalia.com now online!

Tony, lets see some more pics of that gorgeous bus!
Edit: Never mind. Now I know whose bus that was. It would still be nice to see some high-res pics in the gallery though...

Thanks for the input.
Stupid question, but do any of you, or does anyone, happen to have an original sisal mat for sale??? I know, it's in the wash basin and toilet categories of getting impossible to find. |

yes.
I've finally tracked down and received some from europe which is close to the original and does not have the latex backing.
I've also finally managed to find all the fittings and will have the mats ready shortly. _________________ The new http://so23westfalia.com now online!
