|
|
I recently got 1970 Campervan and it has a new motor. I've tried some general searches, but can't seem to get a handle on where it came from. What I'm looking for is a general info like spark plug gaps, info on the timing, etc. Forgive my ingorance, I haven't worked on engines before and am new to VWs. Engine number is AH 185 480. Any suggestions for resources?
Thanks,
Ben |

You might want to start with John Muirs "How to Keep Your Volkswagon Alive; A Manual of Step By Step Proceedures for the Complete Idiot".
I have it, and a few others. That one has been very helpful. It gives some good general information.
Bentley also has one that is very good. Much more technical. |

AH would be 73-74 bug engine case. Spark plug cap is usually the same across the board. Timing will depend on what distributor you are running. _________________ 72 Super Beetle
