my 89 cabriolet's clutch pedal has become very heavy/hard to push. I have been told that this is a sign of the clutch needing replacing. This is a mechanical clutch, so should I be able to adjust it manually and get some more life from it, or once the pedal goes hard, is that the indicator of time for a new clutch. If it can be adjusted, is this a simple task and if so any tips on where to look and what to look for.

thanks!

When the pedal goes hard, replace the clutch,it can not be adjusted, you can only adjust the free play on the pedal, so put in a new clutch and it rides like a new one again!(replace the complete clutch including pressure plate)good luck!
