I have a rail with a type 1 swingaxle trans, one piece case, and i cannot find third and fourth gears. I had another rail about a year ago, same type trans with same problem, i've replaced the coupler and the shifter is bolted in as right as i can get it, anyone with any idea what my problem might be, anything will help. Thanks!

what does it do? shifter stop and wont go over? or can you get over there just no gear? if it wont go over far enough, check the lock-out plate under the shifter. the ramp should be on the drivers side. the way you can tell if its in the trans, or the linkage is to unhook the coupler, put the car on stands you'll need a friend to help. start the car and have your friend work the clutch using a pair of vise grips, put it it first, and let out clutch, then try second, third, fourth. leave it idling when you do this, that way you can hear the load on the motor, and difference in the gears. if it has all four, its your linkage or shifter. good luck.
