At the Veterama, my friend Chrsitian found this pair of taillights. I have never seen lights like this before - does anybody has seen it before or knows, in which year they were used?

Hi,
the lights have VW sign and have the old KDF and early after war part number. If you look at the left light you can see the VW sign on the ring
Bye Christian

The housing looks oddly shaped to me? Can we get a pic of the housing
without the lens in place? Was the red lens on the left (not in a housing) replaced sometime?

If they didn't have the housing, I would say they were early barndoor.

I agree. The lenses look like 50/51 Barndoor lenses, but the chrome Bezels do not.

My 47 had the same housing and lens but mine were missing the lens.
I used a barndoor one as the lens and housing looks real close. only thing diffrent are the clip to hold it on. The clip looks just like a mini hub cap clip.

Saw this post a few days ago. Was looking through e-bay this morning and saw this Crosley ad. The tail lights on this crosley look awfully similar to the ones here in question.
