Wheel well and under carriage paint colors

1960 single cab pick-up

Hi group-

is the body color of the single cab supposed to be painted the same color in the wheel wells?

Is the undercarriage supposed to be the same color as the body? (Underneath the cab, underneath cargo area, and 2 frame rails?)

Its seems it would be easier to paint it all a flat black but would like to be restored to original specs

Original specs would be (a specific) gray underneath, and I believe just body-color overspray in the wheel wells. There are a ton of threads in here on this subject.
