Hi,

Does anyone have any advise about using a 25 hp SOLEX 26VFIS carb on a 30(36)hp engine. Someone has confirmed it is possible, the idea is to use a 30hp block to replace the water damaged and very siezed 25hp from my van, but keep it visually correct, or correctish depending how you look at it. I would be using all the ancillaries, tin and distributor from the 25.

I believe i need to rejet the carb, if so where would i get a jet from, can the jet from the 30hp be used or are they different. Will i have any problem as it has no accelerator pump.

Any help or advise would be great

Thanks

Mark

The 25hp cylinder tin will not fit over the 36hp heads.

If my memery serves me correct. The 26 and 28 pic solex carbs have the same venturi size, only real difference (yes i know there are many) is the jet size, which can be changed out easy.

P.S.- why do i feel i'm going to get flamed?

I guess you want it all to look correct, but the 26 does not have an accelerator jet, i would pick the 28 for better driving.
Very Happy

26VFIS, split style pulleys...
