I'm after a picture of a barndoor bulkhead, I could take a pic of mine but I can't get to the bus until the weekend..
Its for the panel fabricator, to see how long it would take to 'knock' one up..
Cheers

What is the purpose of the square hole on the bottom of the bulkhead,I've searched but couldn't find anything. The reason I ask is my 55 just had the bulkhead replaced and it has that opening.
Thanks |

I believe the hypothesis is that it's a drain for under the front seat. _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks Everett.
Is the drain year specific or did all barndoors have the drain? |

What a coincidence, we were discussing that very same small opening at the barndoor campout. The general theme was that it looked to well engineered to be just a drainage or cleaning hatch. It has a liftup hatch complete with tab to grab hold off. Excessive for a drain hatch no? |

Could you post a picture of the piece by itself? |

It is a rectangular piece of thin flat steel, probably the easiest piece on a barndoor to reproduce. 20-09301 has one, painted body color. All others that I have seen (in original paint) are grey. The lips that hold the piece in place (three of them) are visible from the area under the front seat, not visible from the bulkhead side. The piece slides in and out, without any type of handle. |
