Hi! I'm working on a 76 bus. And i saw that the wire harness from the alternator have 4 wires rather than ordinary 3 (DF, D+ and D-). What's this black wire do and where it go?
Thank's! |

Black wire goes to test socket. Probably the same as for type 4.

Yes, test network, tape it up since it's live all the time. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I typically do NOT connect it to the B+ post on the alternator and then bend it back and wire tie the bend in place making the entire wire dead. I have also just removed it from the harness. If you are one to add a bunch of electrical stuff then leaving it and just taping the free end off so you can easily use it as a 12v source is the way to go. |
