What's wrong with this picture (just the picture) in the 1972 owners manual?

What happened to the spacing in the second section where it says:

"If the brake warning light does not light up..."

I'll bite.
The shift diagram .
also, didn't the electric fan and associated fan switch seen next to the brake warning lite come out in 73-74?
What is it Glenn? Let us know...

Well, I was wrong. Have not driven my 72 in too long... It has the fan switch, it's my 68 which does not...

The 1971 to 1972-1/2 had the wiper switch in the upper left. Half way through 72 they moved the wiper switch to the steering column. If you look carefully the the hole is in the pad, but there's no switch. And you can see the end column mounted switch in the left of the picture.

I guess VW didn't have the correct dashpad when they took the picture.

As to the fan switch for the center above the radio, only 71 and 72 Supers had the fan and switch, the Standards did not. But in 1976 and 1977 the fan and switch were added to Standards.

Looks like a 71 down steering wheel as well, or was switched mid-72 as well?

Glenn,
I just noticed what I thought was a typo in my Bentley maunual for '66-'69 Beetles. It shows the electric (68-up) fuel gauge, but the needle sweep and markings seem "flipped". The Reserve marking is at the right of the gauge, Full is to the left. The markings are not flipped and the numerals and the"R" are in their proper orientation. What's up with that?
