How much money are we talking I've never spent no more than $700.00 for a full set (5 rim's) I've seen quite a few set's over $1500.00 and they are STILL for sale sprint star's aren't hard to find. _________________ $$$ HUSTL'N AIN'T EAZEE $$$

I'm posting again to clarify a few thing's. First of all I've been buying / selling rim's and parts for awhile now and I do find some serious deal's ALOT. As for the wide 5 sprint star's I do sell them for $700.00 a set to other collector's but they are not the 4, 4.5 or 5.5 inch ones. They are on an average the 8 and 10 inch width that's why I sell/offer them to my fellow collector's for because they have to be re-rimmed to the specific size they need for the beetle or bus or whatever and that cost ALOT of $$ to do it. If I am the one to re-rim the rim's to a specific narrowed size ofcourse I will charge quite a bit more. As far as stating that the sprint star's are not that hard to find is because my fortunate filipino ass live's only 5 minutes away from the ORIGINAL EMPI building and I am surrounded by these thing's. The hard part is getting the people to come off of them and they do in time I took a look at the sprint star ads for the wide 5 version and they seem to be right on as far as pricing goes. Hell one ad for around $2K included shipping and I thought that right there was a good deal Unless you are like me and a few other's out here who do nothing but hunt down rare vintage speed parts your chances are slim as if a deal comes up on any website one of us will scoop it up and the ad will dissapear in minutes. With few people catching a glimpse of that "DEAL OF THE DAY" I say you should jump on what's out there now as like I had told someone just the other day nothing is getting cheaper because a majority of the people in our vw community are away more of what these rare peices go for now. So with all this said ! Hurry up and buy yourself some rim's before someone else jump's your find Peace out ya'all and happy hunting _________________ $$$ HUSTL'N AIN'T EAZEE $$$

RestoJohnny,
You're a Pinoy? No kidding?!
FWIW, 5-lug Sprints have always been my all time favorite wheel. However I've always bought them cheap. Probably less than $150 for a set of 4...with caps.... and in OG chrome! It's just sad seeing how the market is now flooded with rusty, incomplete SprintStars AND selling for way more than they should. At least let me find a few more clean sets before you guys hike up the prices. _________________ Volkswagen Club of the Philippines |

| I'm trying to get my hands on a set right now. The price should be less than $200. |

No matter what type of wheel is concerned, as soon as you "re-rim" them to a different size, their value as a "collector's item" is ruined. _________________ The problem with reality is that there's no background music !

| I'm another pinoy to add to the list. Also I have a set of 5 South African SprintStars. They're very common over there; at one point they were the standard rims from their dealership so it's nothing special for them. I traded an oval clip for my SA Sprints 6 months ago. |

you guys seem to find OG sprints cheap. I ended up paying about 650 for my SA sprints and a little more than that for my 4.5's and 6 inch Empi sprints. I like the SA style because you never see them over here. _________________ The Original German Folks |

| Wheels plus I had 2 og sprintstar caps that I threw in with the deal. The sprintstar caps do not fit the SA wheels. |

If you aren't in California, most people won't know the difference from an original and an aluminum repop. I've had some on my car for years and get very few comments on them. |

How about 4 bolt sprint stars? I recently picked up a set of 4 with 5 brand new tires for about $300 bucks, black & silver not chrome, in great condition, 3 center caps dark blue with silver EMPI GTV logo, and stamped on the backside: Lemmerz, Made in Western Germany, 1969
and 4.5 J _________________ Different Strokes for Different Volks

They're worth what someone will pay.
With that being said I have 2 5.5 Lemmerz 5 lug wheels I'm selling.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=407733
I "value" then at $900 shipped.
When they sell I'll tell you what they were "worth" to some one else
I sold my last set of 5.5's and 4.5's for $2500 they were chrome with Black backgrounds.
Last month I sold a set of re-ringed 4.5's and 6's for $1500
They were both painted with (new) chrome rings only. |

At least you got the 4½" ones and new tires. That should be well worth the money. |

| Don't care for them. The chrome ones look okay, but they are way over priced. |

Just a sample of what's possible with a little bit of patience, perseverance, and an inclination to "Do it Yourself".....
*Sorry for the low-res pics. I took these photos a long time ago with a low-tech camera.
