|
|
Ok i have a 57 beam drum to drum, with rizzag's drop spindles, but the new rims i bought wont fit due to the big snout on the front drums. However they do fit like a later drum, say 64. My question is if i get later model spindles and drums, will they fit on my arms on my 57 front beam? or are the link pin sizes different? if they are different, can i just get later model arms and spindles and put on my 57 beam? I bought the poly bushings, and they fit all bus beams, so i would think that the arms could be interchangalbe. Well im kinda new to buses, so any info would be helpful, thanks in advance. Also last resort, how much of the snout can i trim off? and can i take a little off the diameter of the snout, like a 1/8, or is this asking for a disaster in the future, thanks. _________________ One man's junk is another man's treasure |

What rims did you buy? I got JGE Raders on early drums but it took some machining. The nice thing was that they fit so well that the rim acted like a dust cap. I have pics in my gallery.
If I remember correctly you can take the late arms and remove a collar that is pressed on the part that goes in the beam. When this "collar is off the late arm will go in the early beam. You can not put the late spindles on the early arms.
It was awhile ago that I did this so I might not be remembering exactly right.

This will work, but somethimes the diameter of the outer race is slightly bigger then the inner one after pressing off the sleeves...
Can be modified to fit though and then you will be able to fit these later trailing arms and stuff in the 57 beam

If you can't come up with later arms you can have you early arms machined to accept later link pins. _________________ Oil Capital Air Cooled
