'72 Bay Window Deluxe Sunroof Bus. My brother and I picked it up from a neighbor for $1500. It's awesome. We like it a lot.
I've got the engine and tranny out now and we're prepping the engine for a camper special build.
Next step after that is new weatherstripping then interior. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as interior goes? I don't want to spend a whole lot especially since I want to do all the seats in one shot. All I need is black basket-weave but I've got a 2/3 middle seat and a z-bed so upholstery for the whole bus gets expensive real quick. I'll be doing it myself so all I need are the covers.
Let me know what you've used and maybe some pros and cons. I know J-bugs makes decent covers but I've heard they have lousy customer service. All the WCM stuff is too expensive. Maybe TMI?
Check out my website. I've got pics and build progress there.

If you're doing all the labor yourself, you're already saving a grip of cash. So I would buy the highest quality covers if I was you, even if it means doing the seats one at a time. It really does make a difference, and you won't mind having spent the money once they're all done.
Cool score, it looks great. _________________ RIP HBB

Scroll down. The bus slide show is 2nd to last.
We drove it for about a year until the tranny died. Blew 4th gear and broke the selector bracket.
I've got the engine and tranny out now.
Transaxle should be done next week sometime so I'm getting the engine ready for reassembly. |

I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |
