Can anybody please confirm that the following item is a Dehne fuel gauge sender unit, and not a later factory-fitted Beetle sender?
I bought a '56 fuel tank at a show today, and the above sender (sadly the cap is missing) was fitted to it.
Wasn't sure if the sender was a later Beetle one or was a Dehne unit, so decided to take a gamble on buying the tank as it only cost £10 (approx $20).
The sender has been given a good clean, but there are no makers markings on it anywhere.
As I have a Dehne gauge but no sender, am hoping to use this sender on my '53.
Having searched on here I think the sender is a 56-60 Dehne unit, which can be modified to fit the earlier flat gas tanks, but would appreciate that being confirmed!
Thanks!
Paul

That is in fact a genuine Dehne sending unit. I've got several for all VW years
If you're looking for a cap, Kevin Kilfoyl had one 4-sale earlier today at the OCTO Meet. His email: [email protected] |
