Hey Y'all;
I've got oil leaking from the push rod tubes on the right side of my engine (1600dp). I really don't want to pull off the heads to replace the tubes, so here's what I'm thinking.
I'd like to remove the pushrods, then pull the old tubes out from under the engine (I know this will pretty much destroy them). I'll then replace them with the spring-loaded tubes & slip the push rods back in, torquing every thing back to specs.
Do any of you know any reason why this wouldn't work? I'm planning to install the spring-loaded tubes anyway, as they are reputed to be better at not leaking.
Your thoughts?
