195/50's are same width as a 195/60 except taller. I have 195/60's on my car right now with 4.5" wide rims. I personally dont like it because they balloon out but not really bad, but since 195/50's are shorter you might not have a big balloon look like i have.

Not true. 195/50`s are actually wider than a 195/60. Measure them sometime.

Tires do not measure exactly what the size is, but generally a 195 is a 195 is a 195. So a 195/50-15 is the same width as a 195/60-16 and a 195/50-14.

I have 195/60-15 on 5.5" wide wheels and think a 4.5" is a bit narrow.

you will wonder why your car feels 'squishy' inthe turns. also, you actually have a greater chance of rolling the bead of the tire off of the rim in a hard defensive/evasive turn. read that as 'very bad'.

yeah I did a little more reseach after I posted this and found out they'll have the "baked bread" look.
Also that size might be a bit to low and throw off my gearing too much in my bug.

You can run a 185/55 or 175/55 with no problem though. Or even a 185/60.

I run 175/65/15's on the front of my bug. They're 24" tall, a little wider than stock and have a fairly wide footprint on them. They ride really nice too.

Before they started coming out with the smaller width low profiles, I ran them on 4.5 fuchs, I didnt care for the look but thats all they had at the time.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Notice how the 195x50 bubbled out on the side wall...

Personally nowadays I like the 165x45 on a 4.5. Its like a match made in heaven. Plus they are cheaper than 195x50's

I have in my possession a 185/55 and 195/65 and the 185s are wider than the 195s.
In fact when I measure them the 185 measures close to 195 and the 195 measures 185.

These are dirt cheap tyres made in china.

Do you mean on a bus, or on sedans as well?

Honestly I dont like how they look on sedans, If a bug is not super low it will show a huge gap. I like 135's because its the traditional front tire on a bug but I would never, ever put them on a bus.
