I have '92 Honda Prelude seats in my Ghia, they sit between the stock seat rails. When I get the Prelude seats reupholstered sometime in the near future, I can slide in my stock lowbacks back on.
Pics of the Prelude seats are in the threads below.

theres a good feature in the 356registry magazine this month, the guy wanted more comfortable seats for his 356 but also in keeping with the style so hes bought some porsche 914 seats, hacksaw the headrest off(its only fibreglass) and reupholstered the outer in leather and the inner in tweed, they look very nice and quite similar to speedster seats, they are low slung aswell, worth a look.

I had procar seats in my first but in the late 80s and loved them. I am currently in the same delema. I have the low backs in my 74 ghia. I tried to stay stock and swap some guy for his high backs but the rails were differnt. I have alot of custom work done by sewfineproducts and they have a seat combo for about $1k that just slide right in.

I had some civic seats in my ghia, but replaced them with some racing seats. I still have the honda seats and will put them back in soon, for comfort.

Honda Accord seats bolted into my '61 Ghia requiring only some simple home-made brackets on the front mounts.
The original Ghia tracks are still there if I ever wanted to put the old seats
back in.

As rome posted in one of the threads Banzai linked to The BMW seats are the way to go.

If you find the right car, the seats come in black or tan leather. Adjust every which way, and are made by recaro... do it.

Yesss! Very Happy The (E30) 325is or any convertible sport seats are also HEIGHT adjustable. But I won't tell you how; its easy, but let you figure it out. Smile

GTi seats would also look good, with their "German" appearance, but will take some hacking and fabbing to match them up to the Ghia's rails. Might end up being too tall.

914 seats look very good and slim, but have no hinged backrest for getting to the rear seat/luggage area. You need to fabricate a sturdy hinge mechanism. Seems like alot of work compared to drilling 4 bolts per seat for the BMW's sport seat rails.

i like the looks of the firebird seats. but i also like the idea of the easy to clean leather and the adjustabality of the bmw seats. ugh i dont know what to do.
i do plan on doing the interior in gray and black. so i guess either would work. but black seats get hot

Yeah, black leather gets really hot. Get grey leather seats

I probably can't comment on the car much as I have a kit car also (Manx SR), but the seats are a different story.

Those seats are just ok. They would look great with fuzzy white shag pillows on them...

Honestly Thom, you have one of the nicest ghias I have ever seen.

I just put in a Corbeau Legacy. Got it from AirCooled.Net along with the mounting track. It fit in the car like a glove & looks good too. The only reason I got it was for the side support necessary in my autocrossing. The problem, it's too comfortable. I was planning on using it only on race days, but it feels sooooo good. I just covered my stock seats in tan to match the new door panels. Now I've got this black racing chair in the middle of my tan project.

Aloha from Hawaii, Mike here with a picture of my 68 Ghia seats modified 68 bottoms and 67 low backs. Sewfine interior red, black piping, gray tweed inserts, EXCELLENT!!! Did it all my self...for the first time. You can modify stock seats to become incredible pieces of art. Aloha Mike Roth "AKA Rotdog"
