I just got my '73 Super Beetle out of storage for 3 years, need some parts, and found out that Rocky Mountain Motorworks has gone out of business. I used to get all my parts from them. Is anyone out there comparable selling parts nowadays? Also anyone know who sells front disc brake upgrade kits? My brother-in-law in Sweden has a couple Beetles, being European Bugs they have front disc brakes. I'm getting tired of fooling around with these front drum brakes.

I've been using Wolfsburg West a lot, also CIP1.com (California Import Parts). Both are very good in terms of service, advice and ease of ordering. Nice catalogs and websites, too. I didn't care for Chirco because they don't back order for you (you have to just try again later) and because some of the stuff I got from them was either incorrect or low quality. Stay away from J.C.Whitney unless you want strictly bare bones, lowest cost stuff, although their service is excellent.

Thanks, J.C. Whitney is only an hour's drive from my house but they don't have a lot of stuff, at least compared to what Rocky Mountain Motorworks had, and a local guy who works on Bugs a lot said some of the stuff he's gotten from them is very poor quality.

RMMW is still open, I just got their catalog.
I consider them halfway between J.C. Whitney and Wolfsburg West on the service and quality scale. CIP1.com is gaining fast, love that $9.95 flat shipping fee!
Here's the link to RMMW:

Go right to Topline for your brakes and suspension needs. There's nobody better than Topline for the Super beetle front end.

Thanks a lot guys! Gotta keep my baby blue Bug going after my '92 Jeep YJ died. Funny how the old Bug keeps going after all the computer-controlled junk gives up...
