You might want to hold off on that. Here is a topic in the general forum about those plates http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=224505

"Under existing law, an owner of a vehicle that is a 1962 or older model year vehicle may, under specified circumstances, utilize license plates of this state with the date of year corresponding to the model year date when the vehicle was manufactured. This bill instead would authorize this option for the owner of a vehicle that is a 1969 or older model year or the owner of a commercial vehicle or pickup truck that is a 1972 or older model year." |

yeah, don't buy them unless they are really really cheap, in CA, you can't use them unless you are able to prove through old DMV paperwork, that those exact plates, went with that exact car. I've tried, and there is no way around it legally. You could go illegal, and get firefighter plates or some other customized plates with the same # as the black plates, and just use the black plates. I don't think that would fly well with an officer that pulls you over though _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |
