1968 beetle 1641dp, dual carbs, 5k on motor.
Drove like 15 miles, then parked, came back out and when it started up, there was a cloud of smoke, (smelled like oil) 5 seconds later, the smoke is clear. Compression test was 125 all around. Checked the oil afterwards, and it was down maybe, 1/8th an inch. Refilled and it didn't go back down. Starts with no smoke now. Did it just have oil sitting in the cylinders that seeped past the rings while it sat? Just a strange thing, still runs great.

Were you parks at some weird angle??
Oil will seep past the rings if you park on a side hill.
